THE SISTERS CAME TO VISIT

Dear Katie and Jackie.  Thank you for coming to visit us on Pasley and for bringing your kids, who entertained my kids for 2 days.  And thank you for bringing up some fresh fruit and veggies and herbs and bread.  I actually think I actually might like cilantro?

And Jackie, I'm so glad you suggested that we paint the cabin grey.  (I never really loved the lichen).

I really loved our time together...

WAITING ON THE DOCK

Upon your arrival to the South Bay dock on Pasley, you will be greeted by myself and 3 kids, our cart and our crazy dog.

Clara and Sam will guide you down the trail, past the apple trees and over the deer poop, to our cabin and I will cart your food and bags with one arm, while holding Will in the other. Perhaps next year he will walk in the right direction?

Tonight we showed up at the dock an hour early to greet Grandma and Maddy (Clara's cousin). I sipped some coffee and threw sticks for Kirby while Sam and Clara perched on the rocks waiting for the sound and then a glimpse of Gary's boat.  They were very excited to see our guests as you can see by these pictures of my daughter.  Sam was also very excited about the Hawaiian pizza Grandma brought up for our dinner.

Our last weekend before school starts.  Not feeling so good about re-entry today.

PASLEY NEIGHBOURS

If you want to visit our nearest island neighbours, you can either walk down the pathway a couple hundred feet toward the dock, make a u turn and then walk back (practically the way you came) to their cabin, or you can take the shortcut.

The kids opt for the shortcut, which starts from behind our woodshed, ends up at their outhouse and which involves some minor bushwhacking.

There has been a lot of running back and forth between the 2 cabins this month.  Their 2 boys often show up at 8:30am for a jump on the trampoline, some fort making, Life cereal, bubbly drinks and a Gator ride and my kids show up at their cabin for a push on the rope swing, a paddle on the surfboard, chips and yoghurt tubes.

It has been great!

The other day, they asked if I could take a few pictures of the family while Great Grandma Mary (GG) was up for the weekend.  Naturally, I said yes.

Bring on the bubbly!

WILL AND HIS CUPCAKE

I know there is lot of Will and his cupcake in this post, but sometimes I can't decide on one favourite picture.

Our summer on Pasley is sadly coming to an end.  The month of August goes by way too fast in my opinion. On Sunday we have to pack up our bits and pieces and dirty clothes and move back home before the first day of Grade 1 on Tuesday.  Perhaps on Monday, I will consider getting a pedicure?  I haven't worn shoes since June 26th.

VISIT WITH LORI AND HER BOYS

Dear Lori,  I am so glad you and your boys came to Pasley.  I thought you were very spontaneous and very brave, particularly since you arrived with a 6 week old.  I sure do love those fresh newborns!

I hope Cruz survived all the patting and licking and cuddling and mauling by my daughter and youngest...

A DAY ON KEATS

This morning, Candiss made her boat driving debut and picked us up from our dock.  We survived the high seas and made it safely to Keats, where we enjoyed a day of swimming, playing, paddling, eating, drilling, pushing things down hills, eating and being with best friends.

And a couple of pictures (of kids, of course) from yesterday:

This little one from next door was just too cute.  She wouldn't leave my lap all afternoon.
