Tash and Pipe and the 4 kids joined us at Pasley for our annual kick off the summer weekend. We also spent a whole 10 minutes collaborating on our summer list. Clara participated too. Free time is not to be expected with 7 children and one emergency trip to the doctor to extract a fish hook out of Sam's calf.
So here is what we came up with (Clara's contribution is in italics):
- make homemade salsa
- make a fairy house with the kids
- read an entire book (suggestions anyone?)
- lay around and not feel guilty
- toilet train the 2.5 year olds
- make a Blurb book
- camp with the kids, or at least sleep in a tent with them
- make outdoor chalkboards
- buy some new board and card games
- make crabcakes with leftover crab
- put up a tire swing
- have an outdoor tea party
- have beer and halibut fritters at Smittys
- dig for clams and oysters at low tide and make a pasta
- pick our cabin colours (once and for all)
- plant some herbs
- blow bubbles with the kids
- pick strawberries
- make lemonade
- swim with friends
- paint rocks
- make signs on driftwood
- explore tide pools
- look for crabs
- learn how to dock the boat
- build a simple fort in the bendy tree
- take a picture everyday
- make homemade playdough
- paint with Clara on the deck
- watch some fireworks
- walk to the park
- plant lavender
- discover new recipes using summer berries
- make a doll
- make some muddled drinks
- picnic on an adjacent island
- visit friends on other islands
- run through a sprinkler
- go for ice cream
- have pizza at Tuscanys
- have a date at Blue Eyed Mary's
- plant some vegetables and watch them grow
- make amazing french press coffee
- go for an adventure walk in the dark
- lay in the grass and watch the stars
- play with cousins
- run through the trails with Kirby and the deer
- go barefoot
- have a sleepover on the trampoline
- have a treat night with a movie
- have a party on the boat
- make a big sign that says "welcome to fun world"
- do an art book
- grow roses
- visit new islands
- put on a play
- have a crab huntin party
- go on an adventure
- take pictures of Ivy
- make lemonade and make money money money
- have a dog race
- get a puppy for Clara
Can't wait for the summer (weather) to actually begin.
A few pictures from the weekend. Piper and I did a little location scouting. So...should anyone want to come to Pasley for a portrait session and then a little champagne on the deck...??
