A TRIP TO THE PARK

I'm getting a little behind with my posts, but uploading pictures has been painfully slow. Does anyone else have that problem on blogger?

We also seem to go to bed by 8:00pm here in Hawaii which leaves little time to blog.

Today was overcast with a smattering of sun.  A perfect morning in my opinion, to play and take some pictures at the park down the street.  I was the crocodile and the kids ran away from me (they could play this for hours).  The play structure was the "safe place" from the child hungry crocodile and Sam and Rocco also used their super powers to fight me off.

I love Will's pose

Super powers!

 Super hero move

I love this...Clara shaking her head at the crazy super hero boys in the backround

DAY 5: NEW ARRIVALS

We have visitors!  Auntie (my sis) and Rocco (my nephew) arrived last night.  Sam heard them come in at 10:00pm and was sure to tell them all about the golf cart and how fast it goes.  I love my sis.  I'm so glad they are here for the next 10 days.

At 7:00am, we all piled in the golf cart in our jammies for our morning latte, smoothie and muffin trip:

Ava Star (the new doll) and Laura (new stuffed cat) comes with us wherever we go

Rocco checking out the hot tub

Clara in her new shirt from Auntie.  Very fitting.  Love it!

More Otter Pops by Turtle Pool.

French Fry Frenzy!

Matching bathers

And guess what?

We found the cookies!  They were found in a jar on a table on the 9th hole.

DAY 4

This morning Will found the half full popcorn bucket from last night's movie.

Jake still is ill with his rotten tummy.  Poor husband.  Someone was offering cold minty cloths and cucumber slices at the pool.  It didn't seem to help.  But Sam though it was really cool.

This is a perk to not going to Hawaii during Spring Break...the kiddie pool ALL to ourselves. Hard to see, but Jake is getting his sunglasses cleaned on the left under the cabana.  Oh, the life!

Will discovered the garage door opener tonight.  Sam came running in to tell us that Will had run away, and sure enough he was making a grand escape up the driveway...

...and then down the road.  Not sure where he thought he was going?

After dinner, the kids and I went on an adventure to find 1. a squished up frog on the road 2. some goats 3. some cookies left over from the day at the tee box 4. a lizard 5. a bird and 6. the sunset

Here is yet another profound conversation I had with my kids (*Sam) while driving in the golf cart:

Clara: "mom, do you know what Aloha means?"
Me: "tell me"
Clara: "it means hello"

Pause

Sam: (in his very matter of fact voice) "mom, do you know what hello means?'
Me: "hmmm, tell me"
Sam: "it means hello"

Never found any cookies, but we did find the sunset and watched it all cozied up together.

SIX

Dear Clara, my beautiful, lovely daughter. Today you turned 6!

I love your big, brown eyes.  I love that you want to be an artist and a mommy when you grow up.  I love that you savour things and that you are the only kid I know who eats the icing last.  I love that you love babies and will ask the mom if you can "pat" their newborn.  I love that you love dolls.  I love that your favourite meal is Life cereal and your favourtite beverage is "moolk" (milk).  I love that you believe in happily ever afters.  I love having a daughter...and I love you so, so much!

It was fun to celebrate your 6th birthday in Hawaii.  I had made for you a magical birthday crown, which when worn, anything you asked for, was granted.  That meant fruit loops for breakfast, a chocolate chip cookie for a morning snack, cake before dinner, a smoothie poolside, a play at the beach, dinner out with your family.  You did request hula dancers to show up at our house but you were just as happy to watch a movie and cuddle with me under the stars, once all the boys went to bed.

Your new watch and doll (who has been named Ava Star)

"Fruity Loops"

My boys...love them!

Making a wish

Coming home from dinner in the golf cart...notice the sunset?
